Congrats on the birth of your precious baby! Guess what - he/she will not be tiny for long :( Time goes by so quickly that it always amazes me watching them grow when they return for a milestone session in front of my eyes. What better way to preserve memories of your baby than to capture them while they are this small.
When to book?
I recommend booking a session as soon as you know your EDD [due date]. I keep in mind to reserve a spot for you during the week you are due. Clients normally send me a "he's here" photo message to let me know he has arrived, and we then confirm a date for your session in the first 2 weeks of your bubs life. They are sleepiest then and super flexible so curly poses can be achieved if you wish. I find, parents book their bubs in much later as of late [4-6 weeks old] and while this is absolutely fine, just bear in mind that we may not be able to achieve the poses you want because as they grow, their bones also begin to form!
Where will the session take place?
Your newborn session will take place in a beautiful outdoor setting in Morisset NSW. Please note, the normal hazards occur when outside - cold, heat, mosquitos [which we make sure we tackle with repellant + dad or mums amazing whack away hands]. When you choose outdoor newborn portraiture, you are understanding one of these hazards may occur. Be comforted knowing that I have photographed hundreds of outdoor newborn sessions in all sorts of weather conditions and it really comes down to you as the parent, trusting me with your baby. If you would prefer your baby wrapped + clothed during his entire session outside that is completely doable! I will always ask you what you want as we go during our session as they are YOUR photographs and I want you to enjoy the experience also watching your little model rock his stuff.
The session will take approximately 1-3 hours outdoors depending on how your baby is faring along and on the investment collection you have chosen. You can have as many breaks as you need during our session to change and feed your baby.
Indoor sessions are also available if that is more up your alley, just note that indoor sessions will be more a lifestyle session, rather than a posing session - eg natural shots of the baby lying on the bed, in your arms etc.
